Design of Efficient Off-Grid Solar Photovoltaic Water Pumping System Based on Improved Fractional Open Circuit Voltage MPPT Technique

The main application of off-grid solar photovoltaic (SPV) systems is water extraction in rural areas where access to the grid restricted. In this application, (PV) and pump system regulation are crucial increase its overall efficiency. context, work presents a simple efficient SPV pumping (SPVWPS). designed based on DC-DC boost converter, three-phase DC-AC inverter, induction motor (IM) coupled centrifugal pump. proposed solution operated using control strategy that associates an improved fractional open-circuit voltage (FOCV) method for maximum power point tracking (MPPT) closed-loop scalar control. This association avoids use speed sensor/encoder current sensor IM. Finally, effectiveness SPVWPS both steady-state dynamic conditions insolation change verified 1KVA rated prototype. relevance drive also checked various operating found be adequate water. Moreover, guarantees fast response, less oscillations around MPP, efficiency 99%, high flow rate due power.
